Celebrate A Musical Christmas With Marina Square

It’s the time of the year again to be merry and make joy with your friends and love ones. This Christmas, make a family affair with Marina Square as the mall presents a 3D Christmas experience and unique festive activities for the whole family.

I was happily surprised and captivated by the beautiful Christmas decorations put up at the atrium of Marina Square, which was transformed into a whimsical village themed ‘A Musical Christmas Village’.

A myriad of colourful and musical activities will last more for a month until 3 January 2016, which is happening at the main atrium. Highlights of the Musical Christmas Village can be found at the slideshow below, or guests can check out the line-ups via www.marinasquare.com.sg.

Jolly Ride-On Train (20 November to 20 December, 12 noon to 8pm)

Some of the daily festivals include the village train ride where kids can hop aboard and enjoy the leisure ride around Marina Square Shopping Mall. Children under 3 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. This jolly good time is only priced at $2 per child and $1 for an accompanying adult.

Meet Peroro and Friends (20 November to 6 December, Monday to Thursday 3pm and 6pm; Friday to Sunday 2pm, 4pm and 6pm)

The ever adorable Korean characters Pororo and friends from Pororo Park Singapore will be making special appearance at the atrium to wish their fans a Merry Christmas. The first 40 families in the queue at each meet and greet session will have the opportunity to have their pictures taken with these loveable characters. This is on a first-come-first-served basis and there are limited spaces per session.

Santa Stop (5, 6, 12, 13, 19 and 20 December 1pm, 3pm and 7pm)

Santa is full of surprises and he will be roaming the whole mall with special treats for customers and visitors. So do not be startled if this jolly old man stops you and gives you a special present this Christmas.

The Big Piano Showtime (11 to 20 December, Tuesday to Thursday 6pm, Friday 2pm and 6pm, Saturday and Sunday 2pm, 4pm and 6pm)

Get upbeat with this Christmas as Marina Square presents the Big Piano Showtime! Watch with amazement and tap your feet in time as talented performers, with their quick footwork, play lovely Christmas tunes on a 3.6 metres long piano on the atrium floor. After each ten-minutes performance, visitors will be invited to try out the piano for themselves and play their own tunes.

The Christmas Village Light and Sound Show (20 November to 27 December 7pm, 7:30pm, 8pm, 8:30pm and 9pm)

Be captivated as the Christmas Village turns into a musical centrepiece every night! Revel in the five-minute long brilliant light and sound show and marvel at the animated life-sized toy soldiers and eight metre tall rotating Christmas tree decked in red and gold baubles, red poinsettias and sparkling lights.

Festive Fair at the Christmas Village (19 November to 27 December)

Stroll around the Christmas Village and pick up Christmas hampers, gifts, toys, chocolates and candies at the fair. Kids can also enjoy hands-on fun at the crafts booth.

Festive Shopping Rewards

The best time to visit the Christmas Village is on a weekday evening or night. You will be able to take good photos of the Christmas tree and the village decorations, including the light and sound show.

Contiki Photo Contest (20 November to 13 December)

Take a picture of yourself at the Contiki Photo Booth, submit an entry and state your dream destination and why you deserve a vacation. Three lucky winners will walk away with travel vouchers worth $1,500, $1,000 and $500. This contest is only open to adventurous travellers aged 18 to 35 years old.
